About the Collection
Through the years, Marikina City has become a melting pot of various cultures and diverse historic events. Archies, a group of student archivists, aims to archive them all through ethically collecting records from different credible records creators namely:
- authors
- publishers
- artists
- institutions
- organizations
The collection ranges from cultures to architectural heritage, offering a glimpse of history of the city. To inclusively encompass the must-have subjects in varied formats of the collection, the materials are comprised of:
- documents
- photos
- videos
Marikit collection by Archies represents the community of Marikina as a city of diversed culture with must-known history. As the subject of information, Archies ensured that the ethics in acquiring the records in the community are practiced through the right statements. Through this archival collection, Archives are hoping to deliver the users a comprehensive collection for their niches and activities.
Technical Credits - CollectionBuilder
This digital collection is built with CollectionBuilder, an open source framework for creating digital collection and exhibit websites that is developed by faculty librarians at the University of Idaho Library following the Lib-Static methodology.
The site started from the CollectionBuilder-GH template which utilizes the static website generator Jekyll and GitHub Pages to build and host digital collections and exhibits.
